Project Overview
We recently finished a kitchen remodeling project in Belleville, NJ, for a 10' x 13' kitchen that needed more storage and a better layout for daily use. MB Millwork built custom shop-fabricated cabinets in a light greige painted finish, added a 6' maple island with a butcher block top, and installed quartz countertops with a 4" x 12" handmade-look tile backsplash. The new kitchen now feels easier to work in and gives the homeowners a cleaner, more practical space for cooking and family meals.
The Problem
Before the remodel, the kitchen had older oak cabinets, limited prep space, and a layout that made the room feel tight. The homeowner also had a small peninsula that blocked movement between the sink, range, and refrigerator, so the space was hard to use during busy mornings and family dinners.
The Challenge
The kitchen included a low ceiling soffit and a return wall that made standard cabinet sizing difficult. The homeowners wanted to keep the plumbing in place, so the new design had to improve storage and flow without major structural changes.
Our Solution
Our team created a custom 3D layout and fabricated the cabinetry in our Lyndhurst shop for a precise fit. We used full-height pantry storage, soft-close hinges and drawer slides, quartz countertops in a soft white veined pattern, and a maple island with extra seating on the room-facing side.
The Result
The finished kitchen feels brighter, more open, and much easier to navigate. The updated storage, cleaner lines, and balanced mix of painted cabinetry and warm wood accents gave the room a more finished look without changing the footprint.

Client Outcome
