Secaucus Cabinet Refacing for a Updated Kitchen
Cabinet refacing in Secaucus, NJ with new shaker doors, soft-close hardware, and a fresh finish by MB Millwork.
Project Overview
MB Millwork completed a cabinet refacing project in Secaucus, NJ, for a 12'3" x 14'6" kitchen that needed a cleaner look without a full remodel. We replaced the dated cabinet doors and drawer fronts with painted shaker fronts in a soft ivory finish, added new soft-close hinges and drawer slides, and finished the perimeter with matching crown and side panels to make the room feel more built in. The update gave the homeowners a fresher kitchen with less downtime than a full tear-out and a much more cohesive finish.
The Problem
Before the project, the Secaucus kitchen still had its original oak cabinet boxes, but the doors were worn, yellowed, and dated. Several drawers stuck when opened, and the finish around the sink base and trash pullout had started to peel from years of use. The homeowners wanted the kitchen to look cleaner and more current without taking on a full renovation.
The Challenge
The kitchen had a tight corner by the refrigerator wall and a soffit running above part of the cabinet line, so the new fronts had to be measured and fit carefully. The homeowners also wanted to keep the same cabinet footprint, which meant the details had to line up neatly with the existing boxes and trim.
Our Solution
We started with a free 3D design consultation and confirmed that the cabinet boxes were in good shape for refacing. Our shop built the new shaker fronts in a durable painted finish, then we installed new soft-close hinges, drawer glides, and matching end panels to freshen the full run of cabinetry. We also added crown molding and a few custom filler pieces so the transitions around the soffit and appliances looked clean and intentional.
The Result
The finished kitchen looks brighter, more uniform, and much more polished without changing the layout. The soft ivory finish reflects more light in the room, and the new hardware made the cabinets feel smoother and quieter right away. Small details like the matching trim and side panels helped the whole space read as one finished design instead of a mix of old and new parts.
“The cabinets look like new, and the whole kitchen feels lighter now. MB Millwork made the process easy and the new doors fit perfectly.”
Client Outcome
The homeowners now have a kitchen that feels updated every time they walk in, and they no longer deal with sticky drawers or tired-looking doors. They’re using the space the same way they always did, just with a cleaner look and better function.
